We are so excited to announce this special summer offering:

25 Hour Intensive Yin Yoga Training with Liane Knox

Thursday August 11 – Sunday August 14

The body contains the opposing energies of Yin and Yang. We practice yoga with the intention of balancing these two opposing energies. Yin refers to the cooler, drier and more rigid systems of the body, such as connective tissue, joints, ligaments and tendons. Yang pertains to hot, fluid and more elastic systems, which include muscle and blood flow. With longer postural holds, breath work, meditation and controlled movement, the Yin practice will assist with the release of the areas of the body that tend to be more tense and restricted.

Along with the postures, breathing and meditation exercises, this 25-hour intensive will guide aspiring instructors or students who wish to:

  • Deepen their physical & mental practice
  • Learn how to approach Yin from an authentic space
  • Class theory & thematics
  • Sequencing
  • Proper physical & postural alignment (including the use of props)
  • Safe & effective adjustments.

Benefits of Yin Yoga:

  • Releasing connective tissue and myofascial meridians
  • Improving mobility of joints and flexibility
  • Increasing blood flow throughout the body
  • Detoxification & purification
  • Lengthening of muscles
  • Overcoming emotional limitations

*This Yin Teacher Training course is credited toward the Yoga Alliance Continuing Education and all attendees will be issued a certificate of completion.

About your Instructor, Liane Knox, E-RYT

Liane Knox

Yoga to me is strength. It is Empowerment. It is Growth. It is the ability to connect, to heal & to welcome permanent change in your body, mind & soul. Yoga is that feeling when you are standing in nature and you can be in the experience of the air, the silence & the solitude. Yoga is passion. It continually sets a foundation in all aspects of my life physically, mentally & spiritually. I took my 200 Hour Vinyasa Flow Teacher Training in Italy in 2008, and then carried on to Calgary to complete a Yoga Therapy Certificate at Mount Royal University. Since 2009 I have actively been working in Calgary as a Personal Trainer, Yoga Instructor and Yoga Therapist helping people heal through breath practices and movement. The power of the human body and mind continues to intrigue me. The best part of teaching is learning! Namaste, Liane
